“Humble Beginnings”
My story begins in Wichita KS, where I was born in April of 1981. I have a few memories of growing up there, other than watching the sunset while being held from one of my aunts. We moved to Carrollton around 1985. I grew up on Peters Colony, in Dawntree Apartments and later the Tallows off Frankford. My family had a business, a restaurant initially went we moved down here. The business did not do so well, in which we eventually shut it down and my parents joined the workforce. They gave me a great life, which now as an adult I am thankful for.
Growing up in Carrollton was a good experience. I got a great education (Davis, Blalack & Newman Smith) and lived in a relatively safe and clean area. Our streets were clean and kids enjoyed the sunshine.
I was a very unique child and young adult. I didn’t fit into any category or fit any checkbox. I had friends from all backgrounds and walks of life. I was really into fashion, and I would fuse styles from many genres to make my own.
Fast forward, I attended Brookhaven college, later transferring to University of North Texas where I graduated with a Bachelors in Economics. I also took classes in Graphic & Web Design, in which I created a Apparel & Digital Marketing business that I have been running for 15 years.
I have tried and failed in many of my endeavors, but I gain a vast amount of life experience from it. I do believe the life experience gap between Americans contributes to our frustrations and I will do whatever I can to reduce it. I have held many jobs before I owned my business including call center rep, retail (working at the mall), unloading trucks at UPS and a few others in between. I worked at the Taco Bell/KFC off Hebron when it first opened in 1999. I definitely know how it feels to be your own boss and also how it feels to work for someone, having a job you don’t like but need in order to survive.
My interests include the arts, in particular music. I grew up in the 90’s and early 2000s so much of my taste is influenced from that period.
The America I was taught as a child was quite contrary to the current state of the country. I often see Americans moaning and groaning about things but offering very little in solutions. Anger can torch entire countries if not put out. So naturally I felt obligated to create a alternative way of governing things…a New America!
I have a tremendous sense of belief in myself, which guides me through my daily life. This wisdom I carry, want to share with others as the sense of inner joy cannot be bought or sold by anyone, and those who get to experience live extraordinary lives.
